Bruce Rogoff

Chief Executive Officer

Bruce Rogoff is an investor and executive with more than 20 years of legal, C-level operating and private equity experience. The founder of The Staten Group, his vision was to build a firm concentrated on rebuilding market-leading companies and brands through laser-focused leadership, deft financial management and the addition of growth capital. For eight years, Mr. Rogoff served as a partner at Mintz Levin, a national law firm based in Boston with more than 300 attorneys. From his experience there, he moved to the $200 million international marketing services company, Trans National Group, where he served as CEO and Vice Chairman for six years. From Trans National, Mr. Rogoff was recruited to Great Hill Partners, a $2 billion private equity fund focused on business services, media, communications and healthcare, where he served as a partner until the founding of The Staten Group. Mr. Rogoff has served as CEO, member of the Board of Directors or consultant for the following businesses: Cloverleaf Transportation, Duro Communications, Dental Economics, GroundLink, Healthfair, HeliFlite, Jobing.com, Language for Industry, LECG Consulting, LiveBridge, M3 Crane, Mergent, Progressive International, Saker Aviation, Security Source, Summit Golf Brands, TNCI, Trimark Sportswear and TriVin. Mr. Rogoff holds a B.S. from Cornell University and a J.D. from Boston University.

Jeff Stout

Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Jeff Stout is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Frontier product line as well as Matrix Systems integration business. He is responsible for helping to develop, maintain, and support the Reseller channel that delivers the Frontier solution and he works with the Matrix sales team to provide technology based integrations throughout Ohio and South Florida. With over 20 years’ experience in the security industry, most recently as Director of National Integrator Sales at Tri-ed Distribution, Jeff has worked with some of the largest security integrators and end users in the country.

In addition, Jeff has overseen Business Development, National Training, and Product Management in the IP Video space in his career. He has trained 3,000+ dealers, developed ESA-accredited CEU training curriculum on Networking and IP Video, and published several IP-related trade articles. Prior to joining Tri-Ed / Northern Video, Jeff worked for 12 years in sales/sales management with large regional integrators in the design and sales of commercial/industrial systems.

Peter Jekel

Vice President of Engineering

Peter is responsible for product development at Matrix Systems. His primary focus is the development of new products, as well as sustaining and enhancing the current line of products, all using the latest software and hardware technologies. Peter brings 30 years of software development experience, spanning several industries and a wide range of platforms including Telecommunications, E-Commerce, Mobile Devices and Multi-Media. Prior to joining Matrix Systems, Peter was the founder and CTO at Convergence, focusing on the development of an OS-agnostic development environment.

In addition, Peter was a senior manager at Nokia, Director of Engineering at Stratus Technologies and CTO at Logica Wireless Networks (now CGI).

Darrell Shaffner

Director of Field Services

Darrell Shaffner is the Director of Field Services for Matrix Systems. He is responsible for the management of all field personnel and projects. Mr. Shaffner has spent 35 years in the security industry, the last 17 of which have been at Matrix Systems.

Mr. Shaffner began his career in low-voltage security and has worked in design, installation, and servicing systems, including burglar alarms, CCTV, fire alarm and access control. He served as Operations Manager for Able Alarm and Electronic Protection Inc in Louisville, KY. At AutoZone in Memphis TN, he held the position of Alarm System Coordinator for all stores, warehouses and the store support center. His association with Matrix Systems began when he purchased the Frontier Access Control system for AutoZone. Mr. Shaffner has been a certified instructor for the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) teaching courses in Burglar Alarm, Fire Alarm, and Access Control installations and standards.

Mr. Shaffner has held his Tennessee low voltage license for over 25 years.
